Food preparation for the Ossining Community Thanksgiving Dinner

The BCC SPUD SQUAD Rides Again!

The arrival of November can only mean one thing… The BCC Spud Squad is back in action.  Once again, we are working with First Presbyterian Church and Scarborough Presbyterian Church to host the annual Ossining Community Thanksgiving Dinner.  Time to put your culinary talents to work for the benefit of our community!

There are many ways in which you can help this effort:
Shopping:  We have a list of grocery items to buy.
Baking:       What’s Thanksgiving without apple and pumpkin pies?
Roasting:    We need people to take home one of our turkeys (kindly donated by local stores), thaw them, roast them on Wednesday morning and deliver them to First Presbyterian on Wednesday afternoon.
Driving:      Help deliver Thanksgiving dinners to the homebound on Thursday morning between 11 a.m. and noon.
Cleaning:    We’re looking for a couple of people who would be willing to help with cleaning and dishwashing on Thursday between 12 noon and 2 p.m.

And of course, the World-Famous BCC Spud Squad.   We need 13 people to each make 5 lbs. of homemade mashed potatoes and bring them to Beebe Hall on Thanksgiving Day between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m.

Look for a Sign-up Genius e-mail the week of November 4th where you can volunteer for any of these activities, or you can contact the Church Office to register.
