Isaiah 40:3-5
A voice is calling,
“Clear the way for the Lord in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.”

This whole year has felt like Lent to me!
Yes, it feels like Lent, but I know it will end.
My candle is lit
Zoom worship is about to begin
It’s a constant that centers me
In these uncertain times
I know it will hold my prayers
And that others are sharing in this light
It flickers sometimes
It also shines brighter
I ask for that light to shine in me
And out of me
Through my eyes
My heart
My hands
And my feet
Amen.
Praying in silence.
Breathing God in.
I hear the sirens, the birds, the sounds of people passing by my window.
Life is happening and the Spirit is here.
Praying in silence.
Breathing God in.
I am filled.
So much to share.
As I was leaving the woods on my morning walk with my dog, I heard the unmistakable call of the great horned owl. “Hooo-hoo-hoo-hooo.” I looked up into the trees, facing into the sun, but couldn’t find it. Again, the call. My heart leapt.
I prayed for help. “Please, dear Jesus, help me see the owl.” Silence from the trees
as I searched for the owl. I began to walk away and heard the call again. This time when I turned, I caught sight of what must have been the owl as a large shaded profile in the crux of a tree. Not what I had hoped for but it was the owl. As
I turned to continue my walk, something flew past me about 30 feet above me.
I looked up excitedly thinking “It’s the owl!” But it was a spectacular bald eagle so close I could see the glint in its eye, followed by three bright red cardinals flitting along up, down and across each other. I thought about how many times I ask for something and receive it in a different way than expected but also get much more than asked for.

I pray that we be delivered from lies , violence, and ignorance.
Seeing flowers popping up from the soil and buds on the trees gives me hope 😊🙏.
