Our celebration of Black History Month and Valentine’s Day features talented musicians well-known on the jazz scene today.
Marya Lawrence, daughter of saxophonist Arnie Lawrence, is a fan favorite, with her smooth voice and excellent scat singing. Stefan Vasnier, a jazz pianist and teacher at the Hoff-Barthelson Music School, has performed around the world. His style is lyrical and elegant. Eric Person, an alto and soprano saxophonist, has played with and recorded with jazz legends like McCoy Tyner, Houston Person, Vernon Reid and Bootsy Collins. Bassist Chris Conte is a seasoned player and vocalist in Westchester’s jazz scene. Sam Wagner, drummer, is a multi-instrumentalist and composer/producer on the current creative musical landscape, and co-owner of The Koop Studio, a professional recording/music production facility in Irvington, NY.
We are thrilled to have this group here to entertain and delight us for this concert.
