Directing the Sunday School is “the best job he has ever had”.
John serves as our Sunday school Director, overseeing the teaching staff and the activities of our Pre-k through 12th grade Sunday school. He and his wife Nancy joined our church almost 20 years ago when they moved to Westchester County with their family. John also continues to teach the Sunday school’s 6-7th grade class, which he has been doing for the last 8 years.
The father of four, John has been involved teaching Sunday school, coaching kids sport and running youth programs for over 30 years. He taught at and later directed the Sunday school at the East Williston Community Church on Long Island before coming to our church. Here at BCC he chaired the Church’s Board of Christian Education before taking on the role of Director of the Sunday school.
John says directing the Sunday school is “the best job he has ever had”. He is constantly inspired by the dedicated staff of volunteer teachers and loves the challenge of maintaining a Sunday school that is a warm, safe and nurturing place. Our Sunday school is an environment where children can have fun as they build their faith, and learn basic Christian values. The school also helps the children build character and make life-long friends.
Professionally John has always worked in the information technology field. He has been on the faculty at Columbia University, worked for AXA and ran his own company. He currently works for IBM. His hobbies include: woodworking, cooking and gardening
